Sandy Row Litter Pick Walking Tour

Our Belfast Hostel is located inbetween City Centre, Queen’s Quarter and South Belfast. We love our neighbourhood with the historic Sandy Row starting (or ending depending where you look at it from) right infront of our door.

As part of the Live Here Love Here campaign by Belfast City Council we were eager to do our part to keep our neighbourhood tidy and beautiful. And because we already have sightseeing walking tours running for our guests anyways it was just natural to organise a Litter Picking Walking Tour around Sandy Row.

On both days we had wonderful participants from different parts of the world (Romania, Netherlands, Germany, etc.) who were up for a walking tour with a twist. Equipped with loads of fun facts about the area, litter picking sticks and high vis vests we were ready to take on the challenge. All in all you can say we were really successful as we picked up 4 big bags of litter and disposed of them properly. This out of the ordianary walking tour even gained us a price as one of the runner-ups in the city wide competition. Well done everyone!

Fun is a key ingredient when on a litter picking walking tour.

Team work makes the dream work!
